Tritonenbrunnen

The Tritonenbrunnen is a fountain at the northern end of the Königsallee canal. It is identifiable by the central bronze sculpture of the Greek sea god Triton, who is depicted in a struggle against a giant fish, accompanied by cherubs. Created by the local sculptor Friedrich Coubillier between eighteen ninety-eight and nineteen oh two, the fountain was commissioned by the Stadtverschönerungsverein, an association dedicated to urban beautification.
