Holy Cross Church

The Kreuzkirche, or Church of the Holy Cross, rises above the Altmarkt with a tower reaching ninety-two meters into the sky. It is the largest church in Saxony and the home of the Dresdner Kreuzchor, a boys' choir with a history reaching back centuries. The building occupies a site where a church has stood since the twelfth century, originally dedicated to Saint Nicholas before it took its current name in thirteen eighty-eight after the arrival of a relic of the True Cross.
