The Monasteriotes Synagogue stands on Syngrou Street as the only pre-World War Two synagogue in Thessaloniki to survive the Holocaust. Its façade is marked by the Ten Commandments, which were returned to the top of the building during a major restoration completed in twenty sixteen.
