Batei Varsha, or the Warsaw Houses, consists of two rows of two-story stone buildings situated near Kikar HaShabbat. Established in eighteen ninety-four, this neighborhood was designed to house impoverished Torah scholars affiliated with Kollel Warsaw. The project began under the leadership of the Lelov Rebbe, Rabbi David Biderman, though construction stalled until a donation from Yaakov Tenenwurzel of Lublin provided the necessary funds.
