Wah Nam Hong is a fixture on the West-Kruiskade, recognizable as the oldest Chinese supermarket in Rotterdam. First opening its doors here in nineteen eighty-six, the store began as a family-run business and has remained in the same location for four decades. The name itself reflects the family's history, as it was adapted from a restaurant called Wah Nam, meaning South China, where the owners' father worked after moving to the Netherlands in the nineteen sixties.
