Vågsallmenningen

Vågsallmenningen is a wide, open thoroughfare in the center of Bergen that runs from the Vågen harbor toward the city interior. You can identify the space by the six-meter-tall bronze statue of the writer Ludvig Holberg that stands in its center. Created as a protective gap after a fire in fifteen eighty-two, the site was originally known as Rådstueallmenningen to separate the market from the town hall.
