Jama Michalika is distinguished by its dark, windowless interior, a feature that earned it the name Michalik’s Den when it opened on Florianska Street in eighteen ninety-five. Founded by a confectioner named Jan Apolinary Michalik, the establishment began as the Lviv Patisserie before its lack of natural light prompted the nickname that remains its identity today.
