The Sunflower Public House is instantly recognizable by the bright green iron security cage enclosing its front entrance. While many such structures were dismantled across Belfast after the Troubles, this one remains in place on the corner of Kent and Union Streets. It serves as a reminder of a period when the cage allowed staff to screen visitors before unlocking the door to the bar.
