Bank Buildings

The Bank Buildings are recognizable by a prominent, large iron clock face mounted on the corner of the five-storey facade, which features pillars of polished red granite. This structure at the intersection of Castle Street and Royal Avenue is the third building to occupy this site. The original, known as Cunningham's Bank, was erected between seventeen eighty-five and seventeen eighty-seven by the businessman Waddell Cunningham, whose name gave the location its enduring title.
