Queen’s Arcade is a High-Victorian shopping passage stretching between Donegall Place and Fountain Street. You can identify it by its pitched, glazed roof supported by ornate, perforated iron trusses and a facade featuring a fanciful model of a fantasy castle at the apex of its gable. Designed by architect James McKinnon and built in eighteen eighty for developer George Fisher, it was originally conceived as a fashionable promenade for the city’s business and social life.
