The mural titled Are Ye Dancin? covers the opposing walls of a narrow tunnel leading into the courtyard of Sloans, a public house on Argyle Street that dates back to seventeen ninety-seven. Painted by Glasgow artist Conzo Throb, the work depicts a conversation between two distinct characters. On one wall, the city’s famous statue of the Duke of Wellington—traditionally topped with a traffic cone—asks the question, Are Ye Dancin? Opposite him, a blue-haired busker holding a bottle of Irn-Bru responds with the follow-up, Are Ye Askin?
