The Tavern at Rainbow Row stands at the corner of East Bay Street and Exchange Street, distinguished by its origins as a seventeen-hundreds structure that retains its original floors, walls, and ceilings. Long identified as the oldest continuously operating liquor store in the United States, the building was established in sixteen eighty-six, during an era when the nearby port made this section of Charleston a frequent destination for sailors and traders.
