The Pink House, located at seventeen Chalmers Street, is easily identified by its soft, coral-pink stucco exterior and its unusual gambrel roof covered in original terra cotta tiles. Built between sixteen ninety-four and seventeen twelve, it is one of the oldest surviving structures in Charleston. The building is constructed of Bermuda stone, a material rarely used in the city at the time because it had to be imported as pre-cut blocks.
