Ric's Bar + Backyard

Ric's Bar + Backyard is identifiable by the rainbow-colored fencing and a Hills Hoist clothesline decorated with fairy lights in its outdoor space. Established in nineteen ninety-three by photographer Ric Frearson, the venue began as a café before evolving into a staple of the Fortitude Valley nightlife scene. It became known as an incubator for local musicians, with many bands considering a performance here a rite of passage early in their careers.
