The Terraza Caupolicán is a stone lookout carved into the side of Santa Lucía Hill. It is identifiable by a monumental stone archway that serves as its entrance and a bronze statue of the Mapuche leader Caupolicán, which was created by the sculptor Nicanor Plaza in eighteen seventy-four. The hill itself was originally known as Huelén by the local Indigenous population before being renamed by Spanish conquistadors in fifteen forty.
