Place des Cardeurs

landmark

Place des Cardeurs is a large, open square that takes the form of a rectangle-based trapezoid. It is distinguished by the basalt fountain at its center, created in nineteen seventy-seven by the local sculptor Jean Amado. Lined with renovated houses and crowded with restaurant terraces, the square provides a wide, airy contrast to the narrow, winding streets of the old city surrounding it.
