The Fontaine de la Rotonde stands twelve meters high in the center of the Place du Général de Gaulle. Inaugurated in eighteen sixty, this massive stone structure was designed by the engineer Théophile de Tournadre to celebrate the arrival of the Zola Canal’s water into the city. Its circular basin spans thirty-two meters, featuring bronze sculptures of lions, dolphins, and children riding swans.
