Hôtel d'Agut

cultural

The Hôtel d’Agut sits at number two on the Place des Prêcheurs. You can identify the building by the unique pair of stone figures flanking its entrance, a male atlante and a female caryatid, which carry the weight of the balcony above. Built in sixteen seventy-six for Pierre d’Agut, a councillor to the Parliament of Provence, the mansion remains an example of the early Baroque style in Aix-en-Provence.
