Cour d'appel - Palais Verdun

other

The Palais Verdun, also known as the Palais de Justice, is defined by its monumental neoclassical façade and the two marble statues by Joseph-Marius Ramus that flank its portico. These figures represent Jean-Étienne-Marie Portalis and Joseph Jérôme Siméon, both prominent Provençal jurists who helped draft the Napoleonic Code. The building stands on the former site of the medieval Palais Comtal, the historic seat of the Counts of Provence.
