Universitätsplatz is a wide, open square in the heart of Heidelberg's Old Town, flanked on its east and south sides by the historic buildings of Heidelberg University. You can identify the space by its expansive paved surface, which is bordered by the seventeenth-century Old University building and the New University building, as well as the Lion fountain standing near the main entrance to the older structure.
