Café Wanderer and the Bieramt are defined by their position on Tiergärtnertor Square, where the historic city wall meets the slope leading to the Nuremberg Imperial Castle. The two establishments occupy a renovated former workshop and a seventeenth-century coachman's house, complete with a stone watering trough. They sit directly opposite the half-timbered home of artist Albrecht Dürer, overlooking a square paved with centuries-old cobblestones.
