Maxbrücke

The Maxbrücke is recognized as the oldest stone bridge in Nuremberg. You can identify this structure by its three sturdy sandstone arches and the distinct cast-iron tracery that lines its parapets. First constructed in fourteen fifty-seven by a master builder from Rothenburg named Jakob Grimm, the bridge was originally known simply as the Stone Bridge. It spans the Pegnitz River, linking the city's Unschlittplatz and Maxplatz squares.
