Historischer Kunstbunker

The Historischer Kunstbunker is defined by a network of medieval tunnels carved deep into the sandstone bedrock directly beneath Nuremberg Castle. While these passages originally served as storage cellars for beer and wine in the Middle Ages, they were transformed in nineteen forty into a sophisticated, climate-controlled bunker system to protect the city's cultural heritage from aerial bombardment.
