St. Egidien

St. Egidien stands as the only Baroque church in Nuremberg, a city otherwise defined by its Gothic and Romanesque stonework. The structure features the clean, ornate lines of an eighteenth-century facade, which rises from the site of a former royal estate. The current building dates to a reconstruction that began in seventeen eleven, following a fire that consumed the medieval structures previously occupying the ground.
