Takagi Books and More occupies a storefront on Immermannstraße, recognizable by its large glass windows that display a dense collection of Japanese literature, art books, and magazines. Opened on October seventeen, nineteen seventy-four, it holds the distinction of being the first Japanese bookstore in Europe. Tsunejiro and Atsuko Takagi founded the shop after the manager of the Bank of Tokyo in Düsseldorf asked for help obtaining a specific Japanese bestseller.
