Altes Wettbüro

The Altes Wettbüro stands out as a two-story, five-axis classical cube building with a flat, hipped roof and a central staircase at the front. Erected in eighteen twenty-five, it is one of the few surviving examples of classical architecture in Dresden from the period following the removal of the city's old fortifications. The structure, attributed to the architect Thormeyer, originally served as a residential house and was at one time the home of the family of Generalmajor Hans Oster.
