The Yenidze in Dresden is unmistakable for its glass-domed roof and chimneys shaped like colorful minarets, a design that looks more like an ornate mosque than the industrial factory it once was. Built between nineteen oh seven and nineteen oh nine, it was commissioned by tobacco entrepreneur Hugo Zietz to process tobacco imported from the region of Yenidze in what is now Greece.
