Stoa Saul is defined by its Renaissance-style facades and the internal pedestrian paths that cut through the commercial complex. Built between eighteen sixty-seven and eighteen seventy-one, this arcade originated as a centerpiece of the Cité Saül, a vibrant hub of financial and trade activity developed by the prominent Jewish banker Saul Modiano. It once housed offices for the Modiano Mortgage Bank and served as a place of work for the architect Eli Modiano.
