Biskupia Górka, or Bishop’s Hill, is a historic elevation rising sixty meters above the surrounding Gdańsk cityscape. For centuries, this strategic site served as a defensive vantage point, home to seventeenth-century fortifications and bastions that once overlooked the city below. Because of its commanding view of the area, the hill was frequently used as a position for military camps and artillery during various conflicts throughout the city’s history.
