Duke of York

The Duke of York sits in Commercial Court, a narrow, cobbled alleyway in the historic Half Bap area of Belfast. You can identify the entrance to the alley by the painted signs directing you toward the bar. The site has functioned as a tavern since the mid-eighteen sixties, though the current building dates to nineteen seventy-four. That year, the pub was rebuilt after a car bomb, intended for the nearby High Court, was abandoned in the alley and detonated prematurely, destroying the original structure.
