Babbity Bowster Bar/Restaurant/Hôtel

Babbity Bowster occupies a neoclassical town house on Blackfriars Street, identifiable by its Roman Doric doorway and columned facade. Built around seventeen ninety and attributed to architects Robert and James Adam, the structure is the last remaining remnant of what was once an entire street of similar mansions. Before it became a hospitality venue in the mid-nineteen eighties, the building fell into disrepair and was used for industrial purposes, including as a storage house for ripening bananas.
