In Chan Kaajal Park is a public space located on seventeenth Street between Folsom and Shotwell Streets in the Mission District. Its name, which means "my little town" in the Yucatec Maya language, reflects the presence of Mayan American residents who have settled in the area since the nineteen nineties. The park is distinguished by an interactive water installation that commemorates the historical path of Mission Creek, which once flowed directly through this site.
