Frauentorturm

The Frauentorturm is a massive, round tower of red sandstone that anchors the southeastern corner of the medieval city wall. Once known by the name Blau Q, it functioned as one of four primary gate towers that protected Nuremberg. The name, the Women's Tower, honors the nearby Poor Clare Convent, or Klarakloster, which stood just inside the fortifications.
