Teufelsbrünnlein

The Teufelsbrünnlein, or Devil’s Fountain, sits against the stone of the north tower of the Lorenzkirche. Carved from sandstone in eighteen eighty-eight, this small, neo-Gothic structure features a square basin and a pillar topped with a pinnacle. The fountain is best recognized by the sculptures adorning its sides, where a dragon coils on the right and a devil drags a young schoolboy away on the left.
