Museum Tucherschloss und Hirsvogelsaal

The Tucherschloss is a sixteenth-century sandstone residence built as a private summer retreat for the Tucher family, one of Nuremberg's most influential merchant dynasties. Its garden contains the Hirsvogelsaal, a Renaissance hall that Lienhard Hirschvogel commissioned in fifteen thirty-four as a bridal gift for his wife. The marriage collapsed just eighteen months later due to a dispute over her dowry, leading to a public scandal that eventually forced Hirschvogel to flee the city under the weight of his debts.
