Anadi Cabin

food drink

Anadi Cabin is recognized by its unassuming yellow signboard on S.N. Banerjee Road, which declares in Bengali that it serves Anadi's famous Mughlai paratha. Established in nineteen twenty-five by Balaram Jana, the eatery was named in memory of his son, Anadi, who died of pneumonia. The restaurant belongs to a tradition of Kolkata "cabins," which originated during the British Raj to provide private dining spaces for families and couples in a more conservative social era.
