The Wielki Młyn, or Great Mill, is identifiable by its massive, steeply pitched roof that covers the entire structure. Built by the Teutonic Knights in thirteen fifty on an artificial island created within the Radunia Canal, this brick building was one of the largest industrial projects of the Middle Ages in Europe. Its walls rise to twenty-six meters in height, housing a space that functioned simultaneously as a mill, granary, and bakery for centuries.
