The Circus

The Circus is a ring of large, curved townhouses in Bath, distinguished by its circular layout and three equal segments that enclose a central garden. Designed by John Wood, the Elder, the construction began in seventeen fifty-four, though he died less than three months after the first stone was laid. His son, John Wood, the Younger, finished the project in seventeen sixty-eight.
