Sydney Gardens

Sydney Gardens is marked by white cast-iron bridges that span the Kennet and Avon Canal, which cuts directly through the park’s landscape. Established in seventeen ninety-five, this is the only remaining eighteenth-century pleasure garden in the United Kingdom. It was originally a commercial venue where visitors paid for entry to attend concerts, fireworks displays, and public breakfasts amidst a maze, a grotto, and sham ruins.
