The Bell Inn on Walcot Street is a historic free house distinguished by its role as the first co-operatively owned pub in Bath. When the previous owner prepared to sell the property in two thousand thirteen, over five hundred customers, staff, and local fans raised approximately eight hundred thousand pounds to purchase the freehold. This effort successfully prevented the site from becoming a private development, securing its future as a Community Benefit Society.
