Coastal Trail

The Coastal Trail marks the edge of the continent, tracing a winding path along the rugged bluffs above the Pacific Ocean. In San Francisco, this route forms part of a much larger, state-wide project authorized in the nineteen seventies to create a continuous corridor for travelers along the coastline. Locally, the trail links the northern gateway of the Golden Gate Bridge through the Presidio and Lands End, eventually running south past the historic Cliff House toward Ocean Beach.
