St. Ann's Academy and Auditorium National Historic Site

St. Ann's Academy is a large, composite institutional building that stands out for its Quebec Colonial style, characterized by a long, additive form and a prominent bell tower. Established in eighteen fifty-eight by four sisters of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Ann, the site originally served as a school and convent for the pioneer community. The building’s core includes a chapel built in eighteen fifty-eight, which functioned as Victoria's first Roman Catholic cathedral before being physically moved to this location in eighteen eighty-six to become part of the academy complex.
