Bath Street

Bath Street is defined by the sweeping neoclassical colonnades that run along both sides of the road. Designed by architect Thomas Baldwin and completed in seventeen ninety-one, the street was originally named Cross Bath Street because it leads directly to the historic Cross Bath at its western end. The two-story buildings lining the thoroughfare feature mansard roofs, pedimented windows, and decorative friezes, all constructed from the honey-colored limestone characteristic of the city.
