No. 1 Royal Crescent

Number One Royal Crescent sits at the eastern end of the sweeping, curved terrace designed by John Wood the Younger. While the rest of the crescent houses face the lawn and the grand view, this building turns its back on the terrace; its entrance is positioned on the side, rather than the front. Completed in seventeen sixty-nine, it was the first of the thirty townhouses in the row to be finished.
