The Pump Room is identifiable by the tall, arched windows and Corinthian columns that line the Abbey Churchyard, marking the site where Georgian high society once gathered to drink mineral-rich spring water. Completed in seventeen ninety-nine, this stone chamber was designed by architects Thomas Baldwin and John Palmer to serve as a social salon for visitors coming to take the waters for their health.
