Friargate Quaker Meeting House

The Friargate Quaker Meeting House is a modern red-brick structure featuring a prominent front canopy supported by cast iron columns that were salvaged from an earlier nineteenth-century building on the same site. Tucked away in the city center, it sits on land that has been in Quaker ownership since sixteen seventy-four. The basement level contains structural remnants of a former Franciscan friary that once occupied this ground.
