Church of St Martin le Grand

The Church of St Martin le Grand is marked by a double-sided clock suspended over Coney Street, topped by a carved figure known as the Little Admiral. This church, which dates back to the eleventh century, was a central civic landmark for centuries. During the Second World War, on the night of April twenty-ninth, nineteen forty-two, a German bombing raid left the building a gutted shell.
