York Minster Library

York Minster Library sits in Dean's Park, housed within a thirteenth-century structure known as the Old Palace. This stone building, with its slate roof, originally functioned as the private chapel for the Archbishop of York before its transition into a library between eighteen hundred and six and eighteen hundred and thirteen. You can recognize the site by its location to the north of the Minster, surrounded by the quiet grounds of the park.
