Yorkshire Museum

The Yorkshire Museum is a Greek Revival building with neoclassical columns that stands directly among the ruins of Saint Mary’s Abbey. Opened in eighteen thirty, it ranks as one of the oldest purpose-built museums in England, created by the Yorkshire Philosophical Society to house their growing collections of fossils and archaeological artifacts.
