Frasers on Buchanan Street is defined by a grand five-storey galleried atrium, illuminated from above by a glass roof that floods the interior with daylight. This Category A-listed building traces its origins to eighteen forty-nine, when Hugh Fraser and James Arthur opened a small drapery shop nearby at the corner of Argyle and Buchanan Streets. What began as a modest partnership in a mansion grew into the centerpiece of a national retail empire, eventually acquiring storied names like Harrods and becoming a landmark of Victorian commercial ambition in Glasgow.
